Thinking about AI: Speed, Opportunities, and Responsibility

We live in a time when artificial intelligence (AI) is growing at an incredible pace. Some jump on the first train and immediately start experimenting with new tools, while others prefer to wait, observe what will truly be useful, and then jump on the third train… or never. Many questions and uncertainties arise. We cannot predict exactly what will happen, but we can still draw some conclusions.

AI in the field of standards makes it easier to search, summarize, and compare documents, but it does not replace professional judgment and responsibility. Therefore, we use it as an assistant, not as an authority, and human oversight remains essential for all key decisions.

Incorrect use of AI can lead to document inconsistencies, wrong technical decisions, and increased legal and financial risks. AI is a reliable companion – it helps, but it does not take the wheel. Professional judgment remains indispensable.

This means: we step onto the AI train with open eyes – wisely and decisively.
